Can I take a group ride?

Yes, group rides are a great way to ride with friends and family! Simply unlock multiple vehicles at once using one Dott account, then hit the road together – easy as that!

Here’s how to start a group ride:

  1. Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Dott app

  2. Tap “Start group ride” on the map screen

  3. Scan your first vehicle and start the ride

  4. Scan another vehicle and start the ride, for up to 3* vehicles in total

  5. Enjoy riding with your squad!

To end a group ride, you’ll need to end each ride one-by-one, by tapping “End ride” and following any parking checks for the ride you want to end. This makes it easy to swap out one vehicle for another without having to end all rides, if one vehicle encounters an issue or runs out of battery, for example.

Parking and riding rules still apply on a group ride, so make sure you check the map ahead of time to see where you can park. Once all rides have ended, you’ll see a cost breakdown of your group ride on your receipt.

Please note that passes and promotions are only applied to the first ride of a group ride – they cannot be used for the entire group. Also, pausing isn’t possible while on a group ride.

Remember, you’re responsible for your group. This means that all rides, plus any fines, will be billed to your Dott account, and you’ll be responsible for any damages or injuries caused by your group.

Keep in mind that group rides may not be available in your city yet – keep an eye out for the “Start group ride” button on the map screen. We’ll also let you know as soon as it’s launched in your area.

Happy group riding!

*The maximum number of vehicles in a group ride is typically 3, but this varies per city. When adding more vehicles to your group ride, we’ll show you how many more you can add.
