To ensure there’s sufficient funds in your account, a pre-authorization, or temporary hold, is placed on your selected payment method at the start of each ride. If you’re using a wallet, you’ll need to have a minimum balance of 2.50 EUR to start your ride.
The amount of the pre-authorization varies based on the country and on the payment method.
If you're using a credit or debit card, the pre-authorization varies across countries too:
- 2.50 EUR for Germany, France, and Belgium
- 1 EUR or 2.70 PLN for Italy and Poland
- 2 GBP in the UK
When you end a ride, the difference between the hold and the price of your completed trip is released back to you by your payment provider. This amount should appear in your account within a few business days.
If the hold amount doesn’t show up within a week, please contact your payment provider or bank to find out more about their pre-authorization policy.
